Minor issue with Sony Xperia U

I updated to Android 4.0 a few days ago and have come across an issue where every single application I install automatically creates its own shortcut on the home screen.

It's not a big issue but I preferred it when it didn't clog the screen with shortcuts as I download numerous apps.

Any way as to turn this setting or feature off?

Go to playstore and hit the menu button then settings then unchecked the box that says auto add to home screen.
