Help Mobile device management

Good day,

Can anyone give me some advice for managing mobile devices in the field used for work.

Our current problem is that the users are abusing the devices and the mobile data and utilising the device as if its a personal device and not for work.

Is there some sort of application that can log all mobile data usage or that we can use to remotely monitor the mobile devices for misuse?

I was considering applocker but that seems to be too restrictive as the users need to be able to switch between data sims (dual sim phone) and turn gps on or off to save battery life..

Any advice or help would greatly be appreciated as I'm fighting a loosing battle at this stage..

Thank you

This solution applies to only some of the issues you've brought up but a small non-profit I contracted with relied on 'Google Apps for Work'. At $50 a year for each staff member it worked out well as the Google administrative aspect is easily applied to the staff's personal devices who often prefer to use their own phones and tablets, and it mixes really well with the in-house desktops/laptops workstations. The central focus is on Google apps and services but remote management of the actual mobile devices is still a part of that.

The Google admin console will give you control over the phones themselves, but I'm not sure about the data usage issue you brought up. Are all these work-issued devices on the same carrier? If they are and it's a business account have you accessed the online admin account to see what kinds of options you have? I use Ting for my own phone and the online controls for my account will let me do things like selectively disable/enable texting or phone calls or mobile data, along with setting limits on mobile data (i.e. 100 MB a month) or to send me an email or a text message when a specified limit is reached.

Comodo Mobile Device Management (CMDM) provides IT administrators with a rich set of capabilities to secure and manage large-scale deployments of corporate and personal mobile devices.

CMDM‘s console provides visibility into all devices enrolled in the enterprise system including corporate-owned and employee-owned devices. Over-the-air (OTA) deployment increases IT eciency and productivity by removing the need for admins to run around manually conguring devices. Supported platforms include AndroidTM and Apple iOS

Thank you! This definitely looks like something that may work especially for the fact that they offer a free service as well...
Unfortunately I work for a company that makes millions a month but my IT budget is "0"

I have no opinion on Comodo's MDM app but I do think it' s really important to mention that Comodo has a consistent history of releasing sloppy, problematic products. This is just a short list for the last year or so:
Comodo's Chromodo Browser is a security risk:

Comodo's Geekbuddy VNC utility is a security risk:

Comodo releases eight security certificates that are not secure:

Privdog, a privacy protection utility that's included in some Comodo products, adds its own privacy breaches:

Use the app if it's your only option but be sure to tighten up the security on any computers you use to interact directly with the phones it's installed on.

May be Hexnode MDM is what you are looking for. Hexnode MDM is a cloud-based MDM service with an easy-to-use user interface. Hexnode also supports iOS devices and Windows phones. It provides features like blacklisting an app, so you don't have to worry about abusing the device anymore. This also limits data usage. The restriction profile of Hexnode also restricts the use of Wi-Fi or mobile data, and even bluetooth. These features can be installed on any number of devices at the same time, and are available over-the-air (OTA), so you don't have to hook up the device to PC. You can know more about these features at their official website.
