Root My phone keeps restarting?

    Hello I'm new to the Droid x and I have it rooted and I downloaded a rom from clockwork and install it and I use bootstrap but the phone keeps getting to the home screen and then it restarts over and over please help thanks

    welcome!!!
    now first can you give more detailed info???what rom did you install ,are you overclocking(sounds it) and have you done or installed anything else that may be causing this,,,,just try to be more specific so we can better help you :D

    Ok I was on 2.2 rooted no over clocking. I downloaded from clockwork LexLite 2.8 Ginger it said I had to be on froyo used bootstrap recovery it said success then i went into clockwork and wiped data/cache then tap ok it booted into recover and did its thing restarted and then I was trying to just look through the phone and it restared it did this over and over

    Did you make a backup of your stock, rooted rom before applying the LexLite rom? If you did, you might want to try to do a Recover to the stock rom at this point.

    Ya did that Im back on the stock rooted rom now and its good but I would like to have a custom rom

    ok so try another ,,,you may have had a corrupt download or something,,,many different variables could have affected your x and gave you problems,,,

    Pretty sure you need to wipe before you install the new ROM.

    Hey thanks for the help I got it just had to use bootstrap recover and install from there I was trying to use clockwork

    wipe data and cache and also dalvic cache

    +1. I've had to do the same thing. When i tried darkslide mine did the same thing and i went back to stock and redownloaded darkslide and it worked fine. Just don't get in a hurry and forget to make a clean backup of the stock rom. And delete data and cache before installing a new rom. when installing it says go back to stock and perform a factory reset data wipe before installing Liberty 1.5 which is probably not a bad idea to do before installing any rom.
