Friends often use gmail chat to message me but I can't seem to find any gchat integration in the phone or a google app for it. Seems rather odd that this is missing from Android considering it's a commonly used Google service. Even the Palm Pre has gchat integration.

    Any suggestions?

It's called Talk and it's in your applications.

Oh boy, yeah that's what I was looking for. How did I miss that?

Has anyone been able to set the ringtone for their gtalk IM to the sound gchat makes when you're logged into gmail and receive an IM? Anyone have a link to a wav/mp3 file of that sound maybe? I'm assuming you can then add it to ringtones.

Let me answer my own question:
someone has posted a zip with various gchat sounds:

p.s. I need more sleep (seriously)
