Help No sound or video playback

Hi all.

My wife has a S3 mini and is having some problems. She has no sound at all including ring tones. Also no video is working, even on you tube. She is getting a message saying file format not supported. Any ideas?

Hi

If you have, in settings,checked that:
blocking mode is not on and silencing everything
volume is not turned down to zero (with the vol buttons or in settings)
turn off all sounds is not ticked in "accessibility"
you have rebooted the phone - power off, battery out for 30 secs, restart.
and still no sound

then
plug in the headphones. If they give sounds then its likely that the speaker is broken/disconnected. If not, I dont know

Not sure why the video does not play. What formats do not work? Does it play back videos taken on the phone?
