US Tmobile Galaxy Tab flashed to make phone calls - Page 4 - xda-developers
Looks like XDA did it again!
They took the Euro Galaxy Tab ROM and installed it on the US version (T-Mobile) GTab and enabled the phone call option. Phone call was a success however it looks like 3G is not working. They are working to possibly get a US version of the modem.bin file extracted to tinker with.
Someone already unlocked the T-Mobile GTab and made a phone call on At&T using a At&T SIM card. However, only edge worked.
So, it seems like Samsung just did a software lock on the phone call capability.
Also, VZW's GTab also is software locked as its been confirmed to have hardware phone capability. That might take some more time than the GSM version GTab's.
