Help Phone number appearing as "unknown" under phone settings

Well, I know for a fact this phone has an active, working number, but for some reason everytime I go to: Settings>About Phone>Phone Identify it says

Phone Number
Unknown

(Also, it says the same thing for the voicemail number...)

Any help would be awesome! =]

Are you rooted? Even if your not, its no big deal. You'll still receive texts and calls.

Well, this all happened before I was ever rooted. I know it's not really a big deal, but it hella bugged me. but, I got an answer from T-Mobile.

You have to contact T-Mobile and have them push your phone number to your SIM.



Sometimes popping your SIM in an older phone for a bit works as well without additional intervention.





What's happening is your SIM card doesn't contain a phone number when it's sent. The phone number has to be "written" when it gets pushed. Simetimes it's seamless, sometimes it needs a little nudge.
