Root Problems with WiFi tether using Kangerade

Hi maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I'm running Froyo Kangerade V5.0.9 and
Kernel version 2.6.32.9-g103d848

Everything works great except wireless tether starts and runs but for some reason my IPAD doesn't always hook up to it.

I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions before I try a different ROM.

Thanks in advance for any and all help. I'm running the Cyan version front end very cool looking.
