For anyone having issues playing quake 3 over 3g or those odd moments your phone goes into 1X , heres a quick fix to play online with little to no lag.
How does it work?
The following files helps Zeus Arena locate servers that are maintained by I.D & other independant host that runs Q3 servers for the sega dreamcast version . The advantage of this method is the dreamcast version was optimised for 56k connection, giving the play advantage with its cellular connection.
Assuming you have Zeus arena already working!!!
Go to this link:
Dreamcast Online -
scroll down towards the server installation of the q3 dedicated dreamcast setup , download and install the Pointrelease 1.16n in your base q3 folder ( replaces the pk2.pk3 file)
scroll down a bit futher & download the segapak.pk3 into the base q3 folder. Download the Dreamcast Mappack and extract all files in the the base q3 folder, check your base q3 folder to erase files that dont end in the .pk3 extension.
