Question

Rodin10

Newbie
I'm thinking about buying an S3, but I've found reviews on the internet where people complaing about the screen.
I found an instance where the image had been burnt in, I've also heard that the brightness is to low. Does anybody here have complains about that kind of stuff, because I don't want to make a bad choice again.
Do you have any problems with the S3 if you have it for a long time, my phone started going bad on me after 6 months.
If not that will be great!

Thanks in advance,

Rodin

P.S. Sorry for the bad English, I hope it's understandable

Id say it depends where you live. If its a sunny place then the screen could be too dull and youll have the brightness set to max which speeds up the burn-in

Your english is perfect :)

I personally think the screen is beautiful! Never had any issues with mine (had the phone since July)

I have the brightness near on zero pretty much all the time, still bright enough for me.

Yeah i really love the display. Its beautiful :)
The LEDs are starting to degrade though after 10months

Thanks all for the replies, I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one now.
Great that my English is good :), I'll be checking the forums for sure.

Well let's hope that won't happen would be a bummer if I see how great this phone is.
Thanks for the replies everyone :)

The screen is very good but the one thing I don't like is that it's very hard to read outdoors in bright light. My wife has an iPhone 5 which, when compared to my S3 in the same bright outdoor lighting, is MUCH more visible.

I indeed heard about that, do you live in a sunny area?
I live in the Netherlands and there isn't a lot of sun here, so I hope it won't be a huge problem

What do the english know about english? When I view a movie made in England starring working people, I can't understand a word.

JM

English people have trouble understanding the Scots. I lived in south of england for 2yrs and had to completely ssslllooowww down how i talked coz i was sick of seeing that blank expression lol. But in scotland, most of what i grew up with on tv was English, Australian, US so i find it easy to understand other accents, most Scots do. Its funny, theres documentarys about Irish travellers living in england, talking english with a strong accent and i can understand it fine but they put on subtitles. I think a lot of it is about opening your mind as well as your ears. No offence intended but there seems to be something in the british and US mindset where they feel like theyre centre of the world and their way is the right way.. probably comes from their emperialism :)

The brightness of the iPhone is about twice that of the S3. I compared an S3 at 100% brightness and it is about equal to an iPhone at 50% brightness.

Is it irritating when you're inside or is it only a problem when you're outside and it's sunny?

I like how people are active on this forums, seems like a great community :D

I've never had a problem indoors. Only outside, and even with the full sun on the phone I can still see the screen if I have it at full brightness. It's not great, but it's readable :).

I never have any issues with the screen brightness inside. I find that the GS3's auto brightness is calibrated to exactly how I like it.

The screen is definitely harder to see outside in bright sunshine. I find this to be the case for most phones anyway. Personally, I don't use my phone often when outside. If I do, it is harder to see the screen, but not impossible. I use my phone in the car for navigation almost all the time. If the sun shines on the screen, it makes it harder to see, but I can still see it. If you are using your phone outside often, it just takes a little while for your eyes to adjust.

I guess I won't use it very often outside but it would still be annoying if it happens.
Great that everybody loves the phone so much, has to be a great phone :D
