Root READ HERE Before Trying to Root + KDZ Files (KDZ for T-Mobile/Metro/Fido for now)

Hi everyone, little update here we have Root for either 5.0.2 or 5.1.1.
If you still on LP 5.0.2 you can safely root your Device using LG One Click Root or Kingroot and if you are using T-mobile (H631) or Metro (MS631) you can safely flash Custom Recovery (TWRP 2.8.7.0 Thanks @Noobified and flash the LP 5.1.1 Flashable ZIP (thanks @GameTheory )

NOTE: There is no Custom Recovery for Boost Variant neither KDZ file yet.

NOTE 2: If you take the OTA or Update using LG Software (Tmo and Metro) you'll get LOCK Bootloader but no wories there after Rooting using new 5.1.1 Method you can safely Unlock Bootloader by going under "Developers Options" and check " Enable OEM Unlock " and flash Custom Recovery using Flashify (THIS ONLY WORKS FOR T-MOBILE AND METRO)

NOTE 3: if you are on LP 5.0.2 or LP 5.1.1 just go CLICK HERE to Root, Install Custom Recovery and/or get Flashable LP 5.1.1 Update

THIS IS IMPORTANT/ WARNING.
I recommend using the KDZ file is if your Device is UNRECOVERABLE, Reason why b'cuz once you restore your phone using this KDZ you'll loose having the Bootloader Unlock and ability to Root so TAKE THIS AS LAST RESOURCE.

NOTE : This Process Will WIPE your device including device internal storage. (External SDCard are safe)

Post is a great idea.
Will help prevent future bricks as well as prevent people from rooting that want 5.1.1 on their device (Boost users stuck on 5.0.1 if they rooted)

Only way as far as i know to remove all trace is doing a KDZ /Stock restore using lg tools....any particular reason why need to do such thing?

for OTA update. Boost Mobile users that rooted are unable to update as we lack a KDZ and we also have a locked bootloader so we can't install TWRP yet.

if you backed up your stock recovery with flashify. You can reflash it, then do a factory reset.

OK,I looked in the root section (which I should have done to begin with).
Sounds like it's a definite maybe/YMMV situation.

I bought mine this past Sunday (7/5) and it hadn't gotten the update yet. Wasn't prompting me yet either, though I didn't give it much of a chance-- had it rooted within 2 hours of getting home (charged it first), then flashed the update from here.

Just picked mine up moments ago from MetroPCS,still on Android 5.0.2
Once it's fully charged,will be applying the root,TWRP/ROM treatment.

yep we got lucky that from the getgo we had a few devs interested in this phone. I know they are working hard right now to get us some ROMs

What exactly are the differences between 5.1.1 and 5.0.2 on metro.. I've updated using Gametheory's way.. so I still have root and twrp.. Just curious as to what's the big deal.. Not noticing much.. Any one know?

well it was suppose to improve network stuff. and the OTA version was meant to lock the bootloader.

Unfortunately you are right about the bootloader. If 5.1.1 is installed, so far there is no unlocking it! I along with a lot of other devs are working hard at coming up with a solution. If anyone has information or opinions

nop there is no way to go back to 5.0.2 and as far as i know Xposed is a LP thing not just 5.1.1
