If u haven't tested this yourself how can u expect anyone else to risk bricking their own phone?

Why would anyone risk their phone when we already have a one click all in one root tool with cwm, that works beautifully (thanks mt/neph!!)? Especially on an alternate root produced by a person with 4 posts and no known track record to speak of.

Not to be an ass, but there's zilcho incentive to test this.

It reminds me of those spam emails to test ipad 2s. Like, why the hell would they need ipad 2 testers when ipad 3 is out?

Fail.

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE USING MY PROGRAM

I beg to differ. If you wrote the 'LG Root.exe' program then you definitely are responsible if it bricks devices.

I'm concerned about a new member posting something in three different device forums that may not have been properly tested. For that reason I'm pulling the d/l links pending advice from other staff members.

My apologies for any inconvenience, but I'm sure you can understand the desire to keep our members' devices safe.

Sorry man. I downloaded that .rar, but I don't trust .exe files that I can't see what it is doing in the background. Did you merge adb with some sort of script and that is what is in the file? If so, what script are you running to root the spectrum. Doing something to the wrong partition can seriously mess up a phone.

i used the root for the esteem which works on all 3 of the devices i pulled the partition info from the all in one tool and i used the android lib dll and its written in vb.net 4.0 like i stated before i was tested on a revo extensively there are still some problems in hte code but for the most part it works the recoverys were pulled directly from this site and xda except the lucid cwm that was downloaded directly from cwm site since it is the touch based recovery

ps i still need the stock lg lucid recovery as i dont have a lucid ne more to pull one lol i have tot but no img for stock recovery

not to be a Dick but after reading the posts on ur xda site I bet no one is gonna try this even if it worked. we have a stable working method with no unresolved issues.

I would suggest that the code requires cleaning-up before releasing it for public testing, in that case. Seeing error messages during a flash won't inspire confidence. ;)

the main problem with the code atm is when u unroot and stock recovery it doesnt properly back up cwm to the sdcard tells me its mounted as a ro file system i assume its because the phone is still booting i have put in a 30 sec delay to allow for the phone to boot up more but its still not working but again that was one a revo with v7 i have tested it extensively at least 15 times since i revised the code the other day i even included the rename of the install recovery sh for v9 of the revo it will not brick the device and if you would like the source code to look it over i can upload it to git or google code i have no problem with that

can i get some feed back from ne one on this i would like to make more tools in the future but if this is how im gonna be greeted with my first one click i will go back to making other programs

no offense but I highly doubt anyone had even downloaded your program. so feedback will be tough to come by. did you not reread the other posts by members and moderators? maybe working on other programs is a good plan.

@Hollywoods guess you're correct I am a dick lol

no continue to develope. Just make sure that you test your stuff first and make sure that you make people aware that you've tested your stuff. I encourage you to continue to develope for our phone. It would be really awesome if you could work on a rom or some theming for the roms we have ;]

When i first released it on XDA it wasnt tested since i just traded my lucid for a Galaxy S 2 but i went to work and grabbed a revo on V7 software and tested it fully on that i used the current one clicks as guide and just made i nice gui for them instead of plain old batch file now i have the source code up on git hub if you would like to take a look its written in VB usingt the androidlib dll by regawod the root method used is the esteem root and it works on all versions of software i was the one who posted the non downgrade root for the revo as i figured out it worked and asked djrobinson if i could post it on xda

My .02 .....

I think the way this thread was started and your One Click was presented is the issue. Out of no where you posted a thread for an untested ( at the time) with the big bold disclaimer not claiming responsibility for bricks. I get it, I do. You cant be responsible for poeple making mistakes and not following directions, but you has an untested program. I feel it oculd have been posted and worded diffrently...IMO, especially if youy were looking for testers. I feel like it was presented as a ready to go product then all of the sudden it was untested and nobody knew anything about it, or you.

I think the response was a little harsh, but in the same token i can understand why.

That being said please keep developing for the spectrum, and i look forward to what you have to offer.

I personally don't understand what's wrong with the aio we already have .... no offense but I won't be using this as we have a fully functional method as is right now....

Ditto to that....

I hope this didn't put you off. Its guys like you that often save a phone from damnation. I know one big reason i got the spectrum was because MT was building roms for it. I was familiar with his work on the revolution which i had as well.

For us lay people, its the work that you guys do that makes android and the community great.

like hollywood said, it might have been easier if people were better apprised of the situation.

please keep coding. we need ya

the dowload link is no good, thats whats wrong with it ... lmao MT should edit the thread with Finndo's mirror link.

please try my method as a of right now it works just a few bugs no bricks will happen if you use it correctly the only problem im having right now is the back up of CWM when it unroots thats it other then that it works great i have tested it personally over 50 times on a phone that didnt even belong to me

has it been tested on a Spectrum? More curiosity that anything. I am already rooted, cwm installed, running Broken Out 3.0 so i really have no need for this particular tool.

Why would I test something that has no screenshots and has no support from anyone here? Did you get anyone to test it? If so, where are there to support your release?

This phone is entirely too easy to brick, so most of us are overly-cautious.

here is a screen for you its below as for bricking the device thats always a risk with any device its a risk when you flash ne rom hell its a risk if u ota and as for support im right here i will help you if something goes wrong i apologize for my wording in the OP but i will help and as for testers i have had a few ppl test one person said it works great others say it didnt work at all but development takes time im tryin to be a better dev and hopefully move to roms and exploits im just not that savvy yet the rooter works except on LG Revo V9 there was a problem since cwm dont wanna boot after i renamed the install-recovery.p file on it or what ever it is im about to make that change in the source code and commit it to github
