Root [ROM]: CyanogenMod 7.0.0 STABLE!

I haven't tried this since the beta, but there are a number of us running CM7 based roms in the all things root section :)

well I've using it since yesterday and so far it seems pretty good, everything working....
But to be honest my previous froydvillain (with froyo) was faster (although i had lots of problems with camera)

Have you tried it? How does it compare to cronos?

I'll answer you later, I'm testing it right now. Let me have some hours to tell something about this rom.
Cronos 2.0.0 was a battery killer! :(
Cyano seems really fast, more than Cronos ;)

Oh really? I haven't noticed any issue with battery life with 2.0. Odd how that goes sometimes.

If cyanogen is faster I may have to try it :)

Fast reboot, fast boot, fast everything. For exemple, Bubble Blast II starts in a few seconds, really faster than other roms.
Battery life seems good, but I want to wait a pair of days to say something about it. For now, it seems better than Cronos.

Note that CPU DEFAULT settings are 245minimum and 576maximum.... so.... if with only 576 it seems faster than other cyano nightly or Cronos release I think it could be the best rom for Hero gsm now.
Now I'm going to modify to 19MHz/691MHz ;) testing..... testing.....

By faster, do you mean actually faster or that the animations are no longer laggy?

I find it's quite easy to mistake changes in the smoothness of the UI as changes in speed.

I guess it varies from case to case them...

In my experience cyanogen is not the fastest (as i said, that was froydvillain for me)
but at least I don't have any issue of battery or camera, as I used to have, so i am keeping it for now

One and one ;)
As I said, for example, Bubble Blast II start really fast now, with the Nightly full38 or with the Cronos 2.0.1, was really slower than with Cyano7 stable.
And... yes... is faster and better with the animations that are no laggy like with the other roms.
Hope this could be a good answer and better than the first :)

Is this comparable to VillainRom13? I really like the speed of VR13 but miss the features of 2.2/2.3..

This is a complete rom, so, it's flashable on every rom you can have because it delete everything. This is not an update... only on the file's name there's write "update" but it isn't ;)
It's a rom Android 2.3.3 based

Yup, it's a standalone ROM.

Tanna's question was if it's comparable however, not whether it's compatible.

Just downloaded this.

Looks pretty good, but no market!

What's the easiest way of getting hold of the market?

LOVING CyanogenMod 7! Everything is running smooth as silk. No random restarts or anything. The only problem I've run across is trying to send a video with anything other than the stock messaging (you'll just get a force close). Hope ya'll like the video. Just wanted to show everyone who's weary about CM7 what it can really do.
