King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

Like all my threads, I would like to give the following credit and thanks! Unlike some other developers, I know that all of this can't be done by just one person. Anyways, here's the list in no order of course :)

    Team Kang aka AOKP | The Paranoid Android Team | Cyanogen and his Team | DAGr8 | Rohan32 | Preludedrew | Tommytomatoe | JMZtaylor | Tomzefi | All of Team D.I.R.T | qnhoang81 | Agrabren | couga6442 | bajee11 | GOO.IM

If I left out anyone or you think you deserve to given credit/thanks then simply PM me and I will go ahead and pencil you in

    - Make sure you're NOT on HBOOT 1.58 (THIS WILL MAKE YOU HAVE BOOTLOOPS)
    - Download the ROM
    - Reboot into your recovery
    - Wipe EVERYTHING not just cache if you are coming from a ROM besides King Kang
    - Flash the King Kang ROM zip
    - Reboot
    - Boot into the ROM

    1. REMEMBER THIS ROM IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

    2. Given that is a WIP, not all the features will work as they should. Don't except perfection....if you want that, unroot and stick with stock ROM :)

    3. I know this is very hard for some BUT please be smarter then the ROM.

    4. Troubleshoot aka TRY to fix your issue before coming to the thread crying for help!

To successfully set Tablet mode in King Kang, follow the following steps....

    1. Go into settings
    2. Go into ROM Control
    3. Go into Navigation Bar and enable bar, allow SU
    4. Go back and go into General UI
    5. Click Force Tablet UI and reboot manually
    6. Once you come back from the reboot, go into Settings
    7. Go into Paranoid Settings
    8. Go into Workspace
    9. Click on what mode you would like (anything but stock UI, which is what you're in)
    10. Reboot and ENJOY!!

    (In order of importance)
    - Camcorder
    - WiMax aka 4G
    - MMS (As I've been told, this is a known issue across AOSP based ROMs for the EVO V)

    - Whatever else you guys find....REMEMBER, LOGCAT ALONG WITH BUG REPORTS!

Would MMS receiving work on this ROM by replacing the MMS.apk from the PA ROM?

Why would replacing the MMS.apk make any difference? From my understanding the issue with MMS and Virgin Mobile users is NOT the APNs but yet the CdmaSMSDispatcher which is not configured for Virgin Mobile.

Anyways, I don't see why BUT it is what it is.

the mms.apk from lens_flare's pa android port is working for us... its got an ugly dark theme but we are able to recieve mms... though we are still not able to send... its still a step up... we tried to see if it was just the apn config file but switching to a diff mms.apk broke the ability.. we tried the apk on other roms and it has fixed mms recieving for us... this means that the real breakthrough is in the apk itself...

edit: only the mms.apk from the old version works for us... in 2.52 lens_flare switched to the stock mms.apk and it broke the ability for us...

mms is no big deal for me nomore imo, im more into social networks, texts, camera, and music, all of my friends and fam, are on FB or Instagram, if we need to send pictures we do it from there or gmail.

by the way the rom is awesome, camera works perfect, web, social apps, and it's 4.1.2 what more i could ask for? the rom is tight lol works perfect for me.

Thankful for this ROM. Although I wish I could understand why these ROMs for JB never have the Project Butter feel of a true Nexus Android device. There's also major lag/delay in the notification bar responsiveness.

so I'm loving this rom right now! working great for me (except the settings got all wonky on me; its regular phone font but its split like it would be on a tablet >.<)
edit: anyone know if there's a way to disable the bottom buttons and ONLY use the on screen nav-enabling keys?

I gave this a test run and while it was really smooth and a beautiful rom, the stock browser kept FCing on me. Reverted to Mobsterz for the time being.

I tried this ROM over the weekend and all it did was reboot continuously, I have S-On and 4EXT installed, from what I read it could be done that way. By the way both jellybean roms do the same on my phone. I have tried all the ROMs that exist and only the JB ROMs gives me a continuously reboot.

    Any help will be appreciated.
