Help Rooting

Sorry if this is annoying but I cant seem to find a page I saw here a few days ago in terms of rooting the droid. This thread had very clear-cut instructions and links to adb shell required for rooting. Almost a "Droid root for dummies" if you will.

Second quick question, from what I understand "rooting" just induces admin/root control over the Android OS correct? Does it require me to flash to a custom rom (Humancyborg etc.) to be "rooted"?

LOL! Thats it!? I remember seeing commands needing to be issues into the adb shell and everything. Is it really this easy!?

adb is for accessing the shell from your pc while connected via usb. If you would like information about that, try sholes.info. Installation | Sholes
