S7 Samsung Email client Auto-Sync (?) with Gmail Account

Hi!

I'm using the Samsung email app. I have my Gmail account set up with it.

I haven't been able to figure out how to get it notify me immediately upon receipt of an email.

I believe that I have Sync turned on. When dragging down the list of icons from the top of the screen, the Sync icon is on (blue).

Suggestions?
