Help Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 - how to move apps to external SD card ?

Hello,

Please advise how to move apps to external SD card ?

Is it possible with my Android version 4.0.4 ?

I'm not rooted. Is that a must to fix my problem ?

Thank You.

I am not familiar with a way to do it with out being rooted. I do know some OEM's offer a way in the /settings/apps You can check here and see if there is a move to sd option if not then rooted is your only option.

Don't think there is a way, not with 4.0.4 ICS on that phone, certainly not without rooting it and using App2SD. That Samsung doesn't have much free internal storage, <2GB I believe.

AFAIK, in App info screen of some apps, there is a 'Move to SD card' button.

But if the button for some apps is grayed or there is not any 'Move to SD card' buttons for your Android at all, you may have to try to uninstall and reinstall your apps in order to move them to SD card. :(

Go to Settings>Applications>Open the app you want then click on Move to SD card. This option has been standard on all Samsungs since Gingerbread. The problem is, you can't move everything.

"SD Card" as mentioned here actually refers to part of the internal storage. It's not the actual external SD that you insert. That button will still be there even if you don't have a card inserted in the phone.
The only way to truly move apps to external storage with Android 4.0+ is to root the phone and use Link2SD (or use a script/directly modify system files if you're adventurous).

Depends on the device. I have a Samsung Tab 4 with 8GB of memory, just 4GB available, but I have more than 4GB worth of apps installed, and still got 1GB free on internal memory. That Move to SD function works in my case, and I'm not even rooted.
