I've noticed this appeared a few times by itself user input. How do you close this? (without using task killer app?)

Any way to control when this pops on?

Means GPS is on and tracking you. By default the browser uses the GPS for location services. If you left your browser on a page that is using it, it will continually track you. Go into your browser, go to the settings, and at toward the bottom you can turn off Location.

If that doesn't work then another app is using the GPS.
