Have you (or anybody) used this wrap before on previous phones?

I am curious about how it says it helps prevent damages from drops up to 6 feet. My biggest fear is shattering my screen but I also am not wanting a big case on my phone this time around (but was planning on a Steinheil no matter what).

This sounds almost too good to be true but would love to hear any experiences with the product.

I suppose it's possible that all of the people who have treated their unprotected phones at least as well as you and claimed their screens were scratched could've been making it up. Not sure why they would do that though.

I seems to me that when someone is asking if the Gorilla Glass needs a screen protector to assure there will be no scratches, telling them that you have never had any isn't really giving them good advice. Kind of like telling a new 16 year old driver that you've never had the need for seat belts. People will do what ever they want but I think if they ask about the durability of Gorilla Glass they are asking if it can be scratched under everyday use. The answer is yes. Does it happen to everyone? No, but it's happened enough that a better answer than "My phone is in perfect shape" is, "My phone is in perfect shape but it is possible to scratch it and it does happen".

I never questioned the fact that others have experienced scratches on their devices. I was merely sharing my experience.

I was replying the thread originator who asked the question "Is anybody going to be using a screen protector or just leave it naked?"

I wasn't aware that only people that needed them were free to respond.

Just ordered the SGP Ultra Nano. Got it from Amazon so i wouldn't have to pay shipping (prime) and got it quicker. Now i can just look at some screen protectors for another 10 or 11 days....

Just saw an S3 at T-mo. This thing was terribly scratched up, could see and feel deep scratches. I don't know if someone there was testing it or what, but it made it very evident that you want to cover this baby up.

LOL good point - I have no idea how it's going to fit. I just liked the idea of something rigid for once. I've been installing all kinds of 3M/paint protection/invisible shield/etc etc materials on cars, phones, gadgets for years so I just wanted to give this glass a shot. I have no idea how it will be installed but I'm curious once I get it. I'll take shots and post updates. If I hate it, oh well. Like I said - it's considered "expensive" for some people but I figured I spend twice that on myself when I go eat sushi LOL

What happened to the Ultra Crystal for the S3? 404 not found error showing now. I was disappointed when they didn't release the ultra crystal for the Nexus. Now it's happening to me again ... :(

"Helps" prevent is the claim. I used the whole phone wrap on my Droid-X. I never dropped it from 6 feet but I did drop it. The wrapsol was scuffed but the phone did not have a scratch. This of course will not help much with impact. They also have a lifetime warranty and will send you a new one.
I prefer just the screen protector from wrapsol. The Ultra is a little thick but nice. I am going for the clean screen version which reduces fingerprints. I am also going to use this case.

Has anyone actually used the glass screen protector that can say if it is effective or not? I'm really interested in it, but I am curious how bubbles are dealt with.

I think they replaced it with the Nano Ultra Clear. I emailed them a while back asking about the new Nano models for the S3 and basically they are the same as the UC series, but thinner.

Does the cheap TPU cool case have more of a glossy/slick feel or a rubbery/grippy feel?

Since it's rigid, I would think there wouldn't be any air bubbles underneath (think pressing 2 pieces of glass together) but then again I'm not sure what the adhesive material is that holds it on. I will post pics of it when I get it. I'm very curious as well how it goes on. According to the site

"Spectre applies easily and cleanly leaving no air bubbles"

For the Zagg and other wet apply type, I'm thinking of applying it before activating, letting it dry overnight, then turning it on the next day. That way if something happens that water gets in the home button space or something, I can call VZ and say my phone was DOA. It's not likely that the water sensor would have gotten wet so we should be good for them to send out another one. (they do keep an allotment to send out immediately to replace DOA phones)

It'll be hard to wait 'till the next day to play with it though.

I'm actually going to wait a couple of days after using the phone to put my Zagg on. I would hate to put it on & then something is wrong w/ the phone. You can't take it off & put it on a replacement, these are one & done.

All the screen protectors I have seen people have look like hell after a short while...like you're looking through a cloud. After having my Epic screen naked for two years and being able to see everything so clearly, I am just a bit spoiled so I won't be using one. I also am very careful with my phone and after two years, it is still just like new. Not one scratch. My wife, on the other hand, is somewhat careless and her Epic has a few very light scratches from throwing it in her purse. If you are careless, then you need a screen protector for sure.
