Screen shifting while texting

I got my shift a week ago. Overall, I am very impressed with it. I had an original Palm Pre so this is quite an upgrade to me. However, I do find myself still trying to swipe a way an app to get rid of it.

I have found one oddity about my phone. When using the hard keyboard and texting, the screen shifts the box down. It does it enough the focus goes of the text box and isn't capturing the message. I have to move the box back up and physically put focus in the box again. Is anyone experiencing this? Any ideas how to stop it?

Yes, this problem has been mentioned numerous times and there is no official solution for it yet. Maybe it will be fixed in the future. For now, the only thing you can do is use a custom text messaging app like, Handcent or GoSMS.

I did get.go sms pro. It is working great. Thanks for the help.

Same issue but got used to it. Does that app help with the slide out keybord or is it for touch screen?

I use Handcent and it works perfectly with both the touch screen and the hardware keyboard. I still prefer the hardware keyboard and handcent doesn't have the above issue at all.

It works great with the slide out keyboard. I never had a problem with the touch screen. It you get the new app, you'd have nothing to get used to and realize how much better texting is with the keyboard.
