Help screen staying black??!

well, I got my milestone not too long ago, and I'm already having a huge issue.
soemtimes when I slide it, the screen takes a long time to lit up, and sometimes it will just stay black, requiring me to take out the battery/restart it.

help! is something I can do to fix it or should I take it back into telus and fix it?

Have you tried pressing the power button shortly to light up the screen?

not sure, but its a brand new milestone, and only had it for about a week.

also, i've tried holding down the power button and about everything but i still have to take the battery out. am i doing something wrong ?

I've had the same issue. It started with the 2.1 Over The Air update.
I have a German Milestone with a QWERTZ keyboard. I've also had the issue where when I unlock the screen all my icons are gone and I can't get them back without rebooting the phone. Kind of a PITA. These problems never existed with 2.0.
