Help SD card not showing up

I just upgraded to a 16gb microSD and now my phone will not show that I have a card in it. I was not having any problems before I just wanted a bigger card. My phone will not recognize the original card now either when I tried to switch it back. In the SD settings it does not give me the option to unmount and when I connect my phone to the pc it will not give me the disk drive selection. Does anyone know how to fix this?

1. Can the phone handle that size? 2. Somtimes a new card is bad. Check with adapter and card reader on pc. 3. Try to use " format sd" if no info on card.4. Turn off phone and do battery pull and wait 2 minutes then reboot with sd already in. Last resort? Call device technical support for problem before reset.
