SD card reset

Hi, im resetting the phone to when i first recieved it, however, i dont think its resetting 100%, ive formatted the SD card, did a factory reset etc. The problem is i am on Vodafone (which cannot be used with HTC hero), and i needed the Modaco Rom to use the phone, however, after all the resets, it still recognises my Simcard?, so somehow the modaco data must be still on there. any ideas greatly appreciated
