Sd card unmounted

Help please

My SD card is showing as unmounted. Looking at other android phones i need to take it out and put it back in again. Is this really necessary? I have tried settings but that only gives option to format, but not to remount it.
I dont want to take the back of the phone unless i really have to as its certainly a snug fitting case

Turn off, wait then back on again.

I had this problem the other day, I tried mounting my SD card while connected to USB and due to the machine being locked down it thought it was still mounted even though it was unplugged from the USB.

A simple turn off and back on again rectified this issue.

Annoying I know! I think there should be an option to disconnect in the settings. But hey ho I'm not going to grumble about it too much/
