Root [Sprint/Cricket] Updating problem

I'm rooted with Oden 3.04 with the PDA:MK3 / PHONE:MK3 / CSC:MK3 (SPR) adroid 4.1.2rom, stock recovery and a stock Kernel . I can't run the PRL, Profile, or Samsung updates on sprint. I need to figure out what to do to be able to do the updates again. Thanks.

You can't update the ROM on a rooted phone (because the update has to depend on things being where they're supposed to be, and rooting can change that). On some, you can't update if the phone used to be rooted (because, in addition to rooting, the program you used changed other files). The PRL should update - if there's an update for it. There might not be anything newer than what the phone has.

I was able to update those things on Sprint earlier in the year. This is a new development. Could I reflash the rom? Is there something I could do with titanium backup pro? I have that on the phone.

Not with titanium. I don't know about this update (4.4) but the only way I was able to update on 4.3 was thru Odin because of root. If you can't dl the update via kies or ota then give Odin a try.

Are you saying I could update to the 4.3 ver of the same rom? I have been told I may have to go back to unrooted 4.1.2 before upadting because I can't updat my profile prl or samsung firmware.

Ummm.. so I can update my prl, profile and firmware on any tw rom. You should be able to too. As for updating to 4.3 it's a question of Knox or no Knox. (Bootloader replacement) now for Knox version. You would want to flash back to complete stock. (Not rooted) reason being as these fine gentleman have said. It replaces the 'binaries' to make root possible. These may not match the update. So it can corrupt files and create conflicts.
Now to update to 4.3/4.4 w/o all that just go to playstore, grab (Rom Installer), and open. Give root permission, than skip the ad. After it may tell you incompatible recovery.. well well fix that! Lol.. click on the upper left corner of the application. It will open a menu. Find recovery. And choose the newest twrp or cwm. (Twrp is my favorite). After it flashes a new recovery hit the power looking button at top right. Reboot recovery. This is where you can flash any custom rom built for your phone.

Ps.. this process is universal to all android devices. ;)

I have a few apps on my xd card with GL to XD. will I loose those apps? Should I just make a list of them and re-download them after I get 4.3? Another question I have is should I go back to 4.1.2 that came on the phone? Should I go ahead and download a bunch of apps while in original rom or wait until I update to 4.3/4.4?

I have a few questions. Do I have to go back to 4.1.2 or could I use something like this: http: //forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2738533 ? I have a few apps on my xd card using GLtoXD I guess I will loose those? Do I just list them then put them back later? should I re-format or wipe the xd card before I change the rom?
