Help Steaming Bluetooth Music Drop-outs

I have two DroidX phones, both running Verizon applied 2.3.3.

Indoors with air conditioning, calls work well, but I get some dropouts listening to music via the Bluetooth.

Outside in the heat (100 degrees) the voice calls via Bluetooth are have significant static and I get lots of drop-outs when trying to stream podcasts and music from both Pandora and DoubleTwist.

This happens with my older Plantronics, and both a brand new Plantronics Voyager Pro Plus and with a brand new Blue Ant Q2.

I thought the Voyager Pro Plus was bad because it did the same thing on both phones, so I exchanged it for the Q2.

Are there known streaming music issues with BR, DroidX and BT headsets?

Has anyone reported heat related Droid X issues for Bluetooth calls and streaming music?

Any ideas on why this is happening?
