Still confused on mobile hotspot

I have an S3 through verizon. I was told we could use the S3 as a mobile hotspot just like we use our aircard. How does that work where not just anyone can tap into it? Im so confused on the whole thing. I did a search an really didnt see what i was looking for. We are on the shared data plan not an unlimited on.

Once it's turned on you need a password to join the hotspot. You can change the password and device name in the app's settings.

In Settings, More Settings
do you have the Tethering And Mobile Hotspots option?
You can give it a code if you want so only your devices access it :thumbup:

i found the password setting.. i didnt know i had to click the mobile hotspot a couple times to get to it.. thanks!
