Help stupid questions on Gmail

how do you reply on this gmail thing? is the only way to go all the way to the bottom of the message? its driving me crazy. for such a sophisticated system, this email program is so basic. also,the threading of the emails together, is there a setting to stop that?

Threading is part of Gmail, simple as that.

Agreed. there should be an easier way. One quicker way (if you're using the hardware keyboard), is slide open keyboard and hit R.
I'm pretty sure most of the web gmail shortcuts work with the keyboard in the mobile app.

so if you have 15 messages in a thread, the only way to reply is to scroll through all of them to get to reply at the bottom?
