Nope, you need to leave Outlook open for it to continue to sync (at your defined intervals) with google.

i work for a really cool little company. they appreciate technology. the two owners have iphones and the rest of us use blackberries and win mobile phones. i have a dash, but i hate windows mobile, and android looks like a far better option to me.

Yeah...I cam from a dash as well. I love my G1 10000000x better.
