system optimizer

I usually have to do this daily, at least once - to go to System Optimizer to clean temporary files and cache etc. But it's strange that after using a little while, there's already over 100Mt junk... then I clean that, and going back sometimes just 1 minute after, and there's again around 100Mt!!! How's that possible!?

On the list of dirts, there's even stuff from Apps which I didn't even use!!!! Like Google Play Shop...
I thought I turned the background date off already from all the apps, but those are somehow still on, and I don't know how to switch all that off.

Really?! This came installed with the phone, so I thought it's an important basic tool. It's offical name is PHONE MANAGER (version 4.0.1.300)... and the System Optimizer is one of its own tools.
How does Android cleans itself? Only when restarting?

To me "Mt" = "megatonnes". I guess you mean "MB".

This tool you describe is a Huawei one. However the Play Store is full of apps that call themselves "system optimisers", and they are basically junk. I imagine Danny assumed that is what you were talking about. Of course I don't know what your one does because I don't have a Huawei phone, but other Android phones work perfectly well without one.

If you are referring to cache cleaning, Android does not automatically clear all of that on a restart. It will eventually clear cached files, but it's very tolerant of large caches (much more so than you seem to be). On the other hand, it is literally pointless to clear caches daily, because they will rebuild. As with many such "optimisations", at some level this wastes power and data transfer in the service of keeping one other number smaller (in this case storage).

(The really stupid one is killing tasks to maximise free RAM, which is one of the things that "system optimiser" tools often claim to do. This is stupid because that just makes apps load slower and takes more power, while doing nothing at all to make the system or the current app run faster. And that is the reason people are automatically suspicious of anything calling itself a "system optimiser", as that function, task killing, is usually the core feature of such an app).

In general I'd say that unless you are getting low storage warnings there is no need to do this. Is that why you say you "need" to do this daily?

yes, my phone is often totally full, less than 500MB left. (I said Mt, because that's actually Mb in my own language, so my mistake) - and often only 200MB or less (because I also take photos/videos, and I am not moving those so often to my PC). That's why I need to clear the cache etc, so that the Apps would work smoothier; often they are stuck or very slow. Most problematic is the Fifa Mobile game, which doesn't want to even start often; so I need to do all kind of tricks, like cleaning the trash, restarting etc... and sometimes it works, sometimes not. It would be wonderful if I could get more memory to this phone, but is it even possible?

Keep in mind that apps rely upon their respective caches to function. Deleting app caches on a daily basis is only a temporary gain of a few MBs of storage space that have to be restored as each app you use will then just rebuild its missing cache. App caches are necessary, you can keep deleting them and they will just keep being restored. It is not a function you can just disable on a whim.

They could be lagging and getting stuck, because you keep deleting their caches and files, and those apps need to reload/ rebuild?

Fifa Mobile is quite a demanding games, and a phone with only 2GB RAM just may not be upto running it. To add more memory, means buying a better phone basically, that's it.

If you have that much of a storage problem you need to uninstall stuff or buy a phone with more storage (though setting your camera to store on a microsd card rather than internal storage would help). Just clearing cache daily is hanging on by your fingertips and not addressing the problem.

okay, thanks for the infos. so, mostly I am clearing the cache and other stuff with that Optimizer IF the apps are slow or not working properly. specially with that FIFA Mobile game. Do I really need to keep the cache&stuff of other Apps, while using FIFA? I thought if I could erase max used memory, the game would work better... am I wrong? I don't know if I have only internal storage on this phone, or if there's microSD extra...

Your Y6 apparently comes with 32GB of internal storage, a typically adequate amount for a lot of people but since you're encountering low memory issues you either have a really sizable number of apps that you've added or you're storing a lot of files like videos, photos, music, etc. You really should take the time to just manually and intentionally clean up your phone, and no I don't mean that System Optimizer utility you're relying upon to do just that ineffective gain of a few MBs of storage space that's only a temporary fix. Uninstall any apps you don't need and use a file manager app to move whatever files you can to the microSD card.

My Y6 is from 2018, so it has only 16GB with 2 RAM... and yes, I have uninstalled all apps what I don't need. I don't need all every day, but sometimes yes. I don't know how to move files to microSD card... I don't even know if there is one; and it's too painful to open the phone to check.

The cache of other apps won't make any difference to FIFA, it will just slow those other apps if you remove it.
But does FIFA build up a large cache? If it's not reading and writing a lot of temporary data then I can't see why having more free storage would make any difference to how it runs.

I don't know that game (neither a gamer nor interested in football), but if it's in any way demanding the entry-level chipset and limited RAM will limit its performance, and nothing will make any difference to that.

Checking whether there is a card shouldn't be in any way painful. The phone's settings should tell you (just look under storage), or else pop out the SD slot and have a look. But it's unlikely the phone came with one installed (certainly not when new), so if you've not put one in there there probably isn't one.

As for moving stuff, ordinary files can just be moved using a file browser - but if you move files from app-specific folders the app may not be able to find them (so check whether the app in question has an option to change its storage location) . Apps may be (partially) movable if the phone's software supports it (Settings > Apps, select a user-installed app and check whether there is a "move to SD" button - if it's there, even greyed-out, it means the phone software supports the option). Or the phone might have the option to format the card as internal storage (will be in the Storage settings if it has), in which case it can be used as an extension to the internal storage (but not as removable storage).

OK, I might buy a MicroSD then! I could at least put the music, photos and videos to that place.
About FIFA game, it takes about 6-700 MB memory, so there should be still half & more free memory. I've contacted to EA Sports support, but they are not answering anything (which is very typical from them).

I am not familiar with your device, but my device also has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.

I took a screenshot of my device's running apps, and as you can see about half of the available memory is being used.
This is a device that I have disabled many built in apps to keep them from running

And the device is idle except for a browser (logged onto this site) and the apps that run all the time, including system apps.

So you can see that if I were to try to run a game that required 600-700MB there would not be much open memory.

Though it should dump other apps out of memory if it needs the space.

The bottom line is that with the system and user apps that always run, half of my memory is used at all times.

This means that there is very little 'headroom' left over for a game that will leave only 250-300MB behind.

My guess is that device performance would suffer, right along with game performance.

Someone with such a device would do better to eliminate all user apps that run in the background.

The friends I have that have economy devices that play games that are memory demanding have little to no other user apps on their devices.

I am lucky that the games I am involved in are not so demanding.
