OK for curiosity sake I pulled apart the apks and honestly I can't find anything that would cause the issues on non Ecksperia roms...so I'm going to eliminate a couple system apps and publish another test zip.

I'd love to use this theme, however whenever I flash it in TWRP, it says "E:error flashing updater-binary" or something to that extent. What should I do?

I'm not sure. Its edify scripting and I've no issues on cwm6 ....

Tested latest test build on harmonia and 'contacts' kept force closing every time I tried opening it..

All system apks were modified with theme elements to make it look like Xperia. Contacts, phone, messenger, browser, sms, email

There were no xml edits however, just replacing actual image files

Well I installed this build over a fresh harmonia install. No force close errors and contacts opened just fine. The only issue I had was with Google play. Every time I opened the Google play app it would quickly close on me without any error message..

Hmm clear data and cache from Google services framework and reboot. Also allow Google to update and sync.

Yup clearing cache and data from plays store, googleservices framework fixed it for me after a fresh harmonia install. Once I get another confirmation or 2 I'll update the op.

Now that CM9 is down to more minor fixes I will no longer be supporting GB roms. I will however make sure that this project works on all stock based roms before I officially call it quits.

You can try it but have a nandroid handy in case it bootloops.
