Can anyone confirm that the Tom Tom app for the s5 works OK? I want to buy it but I've been reading bad reviews for it on the play store

The reviews are terrible for that amount of money. What are you looking for that Google Maps doesn't provide?

If it's offline navigation that you seek, might I suggest CoPilot? That was my go-to when I was traveling in foreign lands without mobile data access, and it worked pretty well.

It was the offline maps it works very well on ios

You could also try Sygic, which I believe uses the same maps as TomTom. There's a free version available, but I have no idea what that gets you. Could be worth a shot though.

For offline mapping, CoPilot is the best, also Maps.me works pretty good.
both load the entire database onto the extSDcard.
