Hi guys,

I'm trying to decide if I should get a Hero or not. I signed up in July to a vodafone 18 month contract and got myself a nokia N97. I was previously using an original model iphone.

I had the N97 for a month and it was hell. The Hero is a revelation even when compared to my experience with Apple 3G. No regrets and looking forward to the 2.0.

Well thanks for the advice guys:)
I also picked up this months award issues of Smartphone Essentials and Mobile Choice magazines - the Hero won phone of the year in both magazines:).
So I placed my order with Crescent Electronics today for delivery Monday (I only return to the country Monday Afternoon) and really looking forward to getting to grips with the phone - I ordered the white sim free version to use with my vodafone sim.Not sure what to do with the N97 - trying to give to my partner to replace a samsung blade but facing some reistance - I could always use it as a car mp3 player with the massive capacity and stunning FM transmitter.
I think I will go with the class 6 16GB micro card - the only one I can find thats ever in stock is from dabs.com - but not sure what case to get. At the moment I use the official pouch type case for the nokia but have used flip type with both the old iphone and the N97. Any advice guys?
Anything else I should get? and recommended accessories? I will prob end up using it for music so a decent pair of ear cans is probably a must - possibly bluetooth sterio ones might be an idea but due to cost might have to go down wired route.
Anything else I should know/order/be doing please let me know - I am fairly computer literate (built my own Pc's but only ever used windows as OS) so any advice is greatly appreciated.
Regards
Alex

You won't regret it - my dad has an N97 and my wife has an iPhone 3GS, so I have spent a lot of time between the 3 devices. I'm always comforted to be back with the Hero:)

Decide yourself. HTC Hero is a very convenient phone, but its soft and Android 1.5 itself is very bad and unripe. May be in a year it will be better. Nokia soft is more convenient.

Anyway, Android phones for those who are ready to spend much time to make their phones convenient. Nokia and Iphone for those who want to buy normal phones with no urgent need to fix, tune, download, etc.

Well its running away with all the magazines awards.

What mobile phone of the year.
T3 gadget and phone of the year.
Mobile choice gave it phone of the year
And smart phone user gave it top phone 09.
