I kept getting ota update notifications, my phone (if you know generally who I am) already got "soft bricked" because of a bad update so I decided to look into where/what exactly controls the update notifications. I heard other people being forced to update after restarts so I got a little paranoid and did this.

With root browser go to system>etc>security and rename otacerts.zip to otacertz.zip.bak then reboot and viola no more update notifications.

If this helped dont be shy to hit the thanks button :D

I would not recommend trying this as the last time I did it I opened the settings app and the phone crashed going into a bootloop. I was unable to fix it by using the factory reset in the recovery either. Just a warning since we don't have a custom recovery.

Just update it, but make sure you unroot your phone first.
