Root Upgrading the firmware of samsung galaxy mini

Rooted successfully after upgrading to KC1 firmware.

Hi,

Yoa...Great my friend....were you able to install flash on it.....coz stock KC1 Samsung firmware for android doesn't let you install Flash player......any sucess with rooting...

Thanks...

Thanks for the confirmation. Did you select psneuter or rageagainstthecage option while rooting ?

@Wishvak Flash is only available for ARMv7 devices. Galaxy pop is ARMv6 so rooting won't help you play flash content.

Check your firmware version in settings<about phone<Build version if it is FROYO.DDKA7 then no upgrade will be available because it is the latest version.
yeah i checked..it is FROYO.DDKA6.. then i updated the kies software..and now it shows the latest firmware version as PDA:KC1 / PHONE:KC1 / CSC:KC1(INU).. but experiencing the same problem.. its not proceeding in W7 64 bit...

hiiiiiiiiii frnds i need ur help.. my mobile was dead and was given to service centre before one month..they replaced the board and i got it today.. but now it seems something has changed.. in settings->about phone-> it says baseband version as s5570XXKA5 and kernel version as 2.6.32.9-perf root@DELL91 #2 and build number as FROYO.XWKA9.. but the build number was FROYO.DDK6 before i give it to service center.. whether these info correct and denotes the firmware was updated..help me on this plz..

i have samsung galaxy mini POP GT S5570 and its OS version is FORYO.KC1
and in kies it is written CSC:KC1(TML)....what is TML? because i am from dhaka, Bangladesh.

Hey, how about FFROYO.DXKB1, is that the latest firmware?

hi, i am from india, when i connect my galaxy pop to kies it says update is not available. the version on my phone is DDKA6. I suppose an update is available.. please help also do provide any guidelines for software update..

I am guessing the problem is with Samsung Kies on Windows 7 machine .. I am running Windows 7 64 bit on my lappy and I also face the same problems outlined by others in the thread .. So I tried upgrading on my office desktop which run Windows XP 32 bit, it went off smoothly .. It took some time to download and after upgrading the firmware, the phone took a little bit longer than usual to boot up .. Working fine afterwards .. Havent seen any improvement or change so far ..

i don't think so,i have updated my phone using win 7 and kies, got the error mssg wid XP

u will get updates thru kies only if samsung has released any update for ur region. and so ur fone is already updated to available official update. :)

Hi.. When I connect my phone to the pc via kies I am not getting the prompt that an upgrade is available. When I click on the firmware upgrade button it says that there is no response from the server and that i must check my internet connection and try again. Can anyone please help me with this. Also my internet speed is pretty slow. Can this be a reason that there is no response from the server?

Yes! Also it may be because there is no upgrade available for your rom.
And don't even try to upgrade in such slower networks via kies because if the network connection is interrupted(broken) you will probably brick your galaxy pop gts5570. Here is a more safe way to do, Download all the needed files and Upgrade it manually. Read this article for more info on that Handy Informations: Upgrade Samsung Galaxy Pop/Mini GTS5570 to Gingerbread 2.3.4
Good Luck!!!:):)

Thank you yagya.. But wouldnt it be a little dangerous to upgrade manually?

Yes, there is little risk (and the famous saying goes, 'to get something goo you must do something risky') But, if you follow the instructions and do it the right way carefully there will probably be no risk...

Also it is less riskier than doing it via kies in a slow network (the firmware will be if about 100+ mb size and it will take more than an hour in 192 kbps or 20 KB/s speed, and if anything happens in between, blahh!!!). So, don't worry and do it if you want to upgrade. Just follow the instructions carefully...
