I really could use a rooted phone because there are some apps that don't work (i.e. UDP port scanners). At least OpenVPN works properly on the S7 (but not on the S5). Anyway, some networking tools won't work without root access. Those network tools would help with site administration - otherwise I gotta pull out my laptop. I know that it's risky to install apps that aren't vetted but there's got to be a solution to check/vet/allow the install of such apps. Just think of the hassle that would be caused if they did this to laptops and PC's!
