Help Vibrant (I9000M) USB/NAV Incompatibility

Hi! Just bought an 2011 Buick Lacrosse with the NAV system. I cannot connect to it at all via USB. iphone connects right away. I connect to the PC no problem but the car says it "cannot use this media type".

I can take the SD card out and run it straight off the card reader VIA USB no problem but the Galaxy S seems to have a software layer interfering with standard USB interface. Any thoughts/experience connecting this phone to a GM NAV system would be greatly appreciated.
