Video quality for messaging

If I take a video set at HD the playback is great also displays beautifully on my 60 inch samsung tv using mirroring on the note 4.

However no madder what the video quality is set at if I send it as a message in a text the play back is so poor you can hardly watch it !
Am I missing sothing here like a quality setting for messaging ?
