Root [Virgin Mobile] [REQUEST] VM 4.3 MK5 UPDATE.ZIP (Please Upload)

I am aware that some users have recieved the update notification on their phones; although i have returned to stock, i'm still waiting for a notification and a download...

If one of the people on VM who has already received the download would be willing to, I'd really appreciate if someone could upload a copy of the complete stock ZIP.

I'd really like to tinker with the ZIP and force an update, as well as create a CWM flashable ZIP for everyone to use.

Please Help if possible, thank You in advance.

Shouldn't it be available through Kies at some point and then flashable through Odin like the MG2 update was?

After you download, the ota file should be in /cache. But I think you will not be able to see the contents of that folder without a rooted phone and root file explorer.

I installed this from stock recovery. Put the file on my sdcard, powered off, volume up, power, and home, update from external, select the file and go.

For now the only possibility to flash this update is to go back to stock recovery right? I am deciding if I should go back to stock or wait until the file gets modified so it can flash in CWM....

Hopefully after work I can work on this and if so I'll have a flashable ZIP by tomorrow late evening.... If nothing else by Monday morning.... I've got to look into this KNOX bootloader that we have flashed with this new update.....

There are a few "KNOX" drawbacks:
YOU CANNOT USE ODIN TO REVERT TO 4.1.2 AFTER THE 4.3 UPDATE!!!! YOU WILL HARD BRICK!!!!!
YOU CANNOT RUN ANY ROMs <4.3 (e.g. 4.1, 4.1.2, 4.2, 4.2.2) THIS WILL (at least SOFT) BRICK YOUR DEVICE!!

Thanks for the info! Are you able to re-root now after the update?

I did not try to root... I just re-installed slim bean which i was runnning before....
1. updated
2. flash recovery w/ odin
3. flash 6.0.3.1 sprint recovery from 5.5.0.3 VM recovery
4. Flash Slim Bean (or any 4.3+ ROM)

______
I would guess that if you flashed the chainfire ROOT for galaxy s3 that would probably work to get you root.....

EDIT: I'll try rooting the stock system tonight.... I may just use android kitchen to do it...
