Well This month has to be the worse for Vodafone
They have rolled out a SMS app called RCS
Well whats up with that
well it was done Via a Firmware update
The customer could not stop the Update nor did he no it was going to be on
As this is a Third party app it started ringing Alarm bells with HTC one users
see
Re: Rich Communication Suite - HTC One - Page 12 - Vodafone eForum
Vodafone made no help at first until users started getting upset
There answer three days after was to put on instrutions that stated that this disabled the App
No all it did was to stop syncing the app
you can not use HTC's default messenger app
Nor can you disable the app in Applications manager
That Last bit Breaches Googles T&C
The Phones effected are The HTC one, Sony Z1 and Z2 but they can remove the app for now and the Samsung Note 3
People are talking about routing and Legal action
when Vodafone did this last one the press was all over this
Now there not saying nothing perhaps Gagged some how

According to their RCS FAQ you can disable it under Accounts and Sync instead of Applications Manager:

HTC

  • Go to Accounts and Sync
  • Rich Communications
  • Rich Communications settings
  • Choose off
  • Click OK to confirm

Nope that does not disable the RCS nor does this turn it off
To disable a app fully it has to be done in the Application Manager but Vodafone has removed this braking the Android T&C on third party apps
on the S5 they have had no option but to rol another firmware out that gives this back
and gess what they all did Disable it
But poor HTC one and well every one else are stuck with this and there messages sent to a third party company
