Wanting to upgrade from Ascend...

8m wanting to upgrade from the Ascend but stay with Cricket. What options do I have and are they much better than the Ascend? Or should I wait on an upcoming Ph that is rumoured to hit Cricket?

I'm on the. Samsung admire (I think cricket calls it the vitality)
About 150-170 w 1month of service with metro

800mhz arm very
3.2 Mega rear camera
32gig capacity
Rooted and themed with roms on the way....
Plus you get me, the loveable peaceful hippie named toke ;)


Its better than the ascend by a ton and won't break your wallet

Go to AMAZON & this phone(SAMSUNG VITALITY w/CRICKET) is only $85 NEW,sold & shipped by AMAZON(free shipping).

Or,buy the HUAWEI MERCURY direct from http://www.mycricket.com a $70 savings at $179 w/on-line discount & mail-in rebate.

You get TOKE w/the ADMIRE/VITALITY & GMASH w/the MERCURY,you can't lose either way.

Go try both out & see which is best for you.
One thing is certain,can't knock the price of either set.

BTW,the ASCEND II is only $99 on-line as well,might as well try it out while you're there.
 
On Cricket the Mercury is the best phone the have atm. On metro its the esteem atm with the LG Connect on its way soon which will have a 1.2 dual core cpu and 1GB or RAM, 4GB internal storage.


And SUP Ascendland ;)

I was aiming for midrange ... ascenders tend to be less monetarily gifted...
But yeah metros top phone is the esteem

I would go with the mercury. Also I want to point out that Huawei was one of the first to put out a phone with ICS, so maybe it will get updated to ICS in the future. I was too impatient to wait for the mercury, and I switched to tmobile and got an awesome phone, and a not awesome contract....I now regret leaving cricket. My phone is still awesome, but the contract sucks. I wish I had been patient enough to wait for the mercury.
 
Will more than likely be picking up this phone this weekend.

Can't wait.

Will be posting in the Mercury forum to get some tips on this phone.

Can't buy the Mercury from the cricket site because I was told since I already have a cricket phone (Ascend) I have to purchase the Mercury from a local store to upgrade..........:(
 
Yeah, that's what sucks about Cricket. You could start a new line if you didn't care about your number changing. I wonder if you could do that, then port your number to the new phone after?
