where are ringtones stored

IF you have to be rooted, you'll probably need a file manager that allows you to change the directory from read only to read/write. Root Explorer is one such program. There may be a free one that does this too. Not 100% sure if you need that. Can someone else chime in and verify?

Edit: Root Browser Lite says it allows for changing file permissions and ownership but doesn't specifically mention changing directory permissions. Might be worth looking into regardless.
