Still not sure on the differences between these two things, but I have some widgets with three sizes: small, medium, large. Why have three? And do these widgets drain battery or can I keep them all comfortably?

And why can't I keep up on the screen all the previous threads which might answer my questions?? I want to read them, but when I hit the Enter key to start my thread, they disappear! and I'm left with the cryptic message that my post is too short.
