Wifi Tether for Root users

I can't seem to get this to work I rooted mt phone quite a long time ago to no avail. I turn on the tether it starts the tether yet I can't find the connection on my PS3 manually entering the SSID has also failed. I'm using one of the old JF firmwares (1.5 cupcake) since us G1 users got shafted due to HTCs bad manufacturing.

Also this is the apk I used for the app.
