I love the low bill, and I'm pretty happy with the Evo V. That said, Virgin's coverage leaves something to be desired. I live in a large city, and I frequently drop signal entirely, have such poor reception that the phone won't place a call, or have audio breaking up during calls. It's not just this phone either, it's actually better on the Evo than on the Triumph that I had before. 4G (WiMax) is great when I have a solid connection, but I usually just turn it off unless I'm sitting still in one spot. When you are moving it drops in and out our switches towers too often, and when it connects to a new tower the delay before data picks up is irritating.
I have been content to deal with the annoyances, I see it as a worthwhile trade off for the low bill ($37.50/month after tax for one line,) but I'm jumping ship to Ting soon. They also run on Sprint's network, but they allow voice roaming on Verizon's network too. They also have access to LTE on Sprint. I will actually pay a little less per month with them based on my usage, and they have a MUCH better selection of phones. The only downside I see is that the phones themself are more expensive, but they have new high end phones (like the Galaxy S III and the Photon Q) while the top phone on Virgin is a discontinued Sprint leftover.
