i downloaded the z4root for my Huawei ascend. and when i went to root it. my phone didn't turn into v2.2 isn't that supposed to happend?

no the 2.2 update hasn't come out yet z4root just roots your phone

theres an unofficial 2.2 you can install and it runs great....

All rooting does is give you superuser access to the phone so you can delete bloatware, overclock, stuff like that.
