If you enjoy listening to music on your Android device, you may be surprised to learn that the ZTE Blade V8 Pro can't play some music apps (those like Spotify, Pandora, etc.) for more than 15 minutes before shutting them down. The issue has been made well-known on the phone's Amazon listing, as well as ZTE’s own user forum, so this isn't an isolated incident.

I should note that not all music apps are affected by this bug. Some music apps like Google Play Music work just fine. It’s also worth mentioning that the problem persists even after white listing these apps from “Screen-lock cleaning,” the Blade V8 Pro’s overly aggressive RAM management feature.

It's the one thing tarnishing an otherwise great smartphone, but a fix is coming soon. ZTE confirmed to Phandroid that they're aware of the issue and that it will be fix in a future software update. There's still no release timing outside of a vague "in the coming weeks" sorta thing, but now that you know it's coming you can be on the lookout (or avoid returning the device for now).

UPDATE (03-13-17): Looks like the software update is rolling out now for the Blade V8 Pro and although the release notes are small, ZTE specifically notes "Fixed music app closure issue after minutes (Battery Saver)." There you have it.

Update is out now... claims to fix that issue, contains January security patch, etc.
