A reason to have your phone ROOTED

Many people on here have asked, why should I root my phone, nothing attracts me to do it.

Well today I have a reason that will defy them all.

How much did you pay for your phone? Upgraded fee? Walmart special price? Partial upgrade price? Or Full price?

Maybe some of you got a special deal by trading your old Samsung BeholdII for it.

Well what would happen if you lost your phone? some of you have insurance, and then again some of you knows how fun it is to go through insurance to get another phone.

There is a program called mobile defense on the market.

The program allows you to find your phone once you lose it by using GPS, WIFI,and CELLPHONE TOWERS.

It allows you to remote wipe your phone, lock it, and even call it after someone changes the sim card.

But wait.........what if someone does a factory restore, or if someone uninstalls it???

Aww too bad, now you have lost your phone for good, unless.....you have root.

Once you have root, you can install the mobiledefense.apk as a system app, so when you get a reset on your phone, it is STILL on there running.

installing your app as a root also give you the power to control your gps to turn on, even if they turn it off.

NOW if that isn't a reason to get root, then you must be rich or not care about your phone to prevent it from being lost

Also Can someone provide a one hundred percent accurate statement as to if rooting voids your warranty or not, also can you provide documentation that states this. I guess, I don't root since I don't really know the full details on how to, also I don't want to void my warranty, what if the phone bricks?

root meant to gain fullacces to the phone like the admenstrater on a computer so u can do a whole bunch of stuff besides just ading roms suchs apps 2 sd and a lot of app that r made just for ppl with root acces and da warrenty thing i dont think so caus eu dont open the phone and i didnt c any wear it say u cnat plug it to the computer lol and if u brick it your fuged but rooting the slide is so easy u cant brick it unless u try

Root is when you take the power of controlling your own device out of the hands of Your Cellphone Maker and put it into your own hands. It allows you to install apps as system apps, it can also allows you to run apps from the sd card.

There is no limit to what you can do to your phone when its rooted, because if you have the source for the drivers, you do whatever you want.

Unlocking the phone is when you take the power away from the cellular provider.

When a phone is unlocked, it can be used on another network. Tmobile slide phones can be used on Att Networks. There might be some difficulties on what you can or cannot do, but then again, if you had a ROOTED phone, you could alter your phone to take full advantage of that carriers offering. (That is ONLY if you are a paying subscriber)

There is a higher chance of you getting in a car accident while walking out the door in the morning than you bricking your phone.

Yes, rooting is frowned upon at tmobile, and other wireless places. Most people that root turn the phone into soemthing else that its not ment for.

Other people who experiment without research the consequences, ending up bricking the phone because the changes made overkill the phone's processor.

In every job, there are mistakes, so I would suggest that you practice your techniques on a used phone before you use it on a new one.

Overclocking the processor too much would be a quick way to kill the processor... Not being careful and missing a step or just doing something wrong while flashing a different rom could brick it. If you don't get greedy with the overclocking and if you're careful with flashing roms if you decide to do those things you should be fine.

Hrmmm - 1% means one time in one hundred. There is a higher chance of getting in a car accident walking out the door? That averages to more than 3 accidents a year (really many more because I go out multiple times.

Knowing this extraordinary fact, I just removed the screen from my front windows - I'm leaving via the windows from now on - doors are dangerous...

Well let me answer your question about the rooting back.

From my experience people have had trouble getting ota updates once their phone has been rooted.

However, we have some good developers that currently own slides.

they extract the update from a phone that has not been rooted and put that update into better and faster roms.

In most roms they take out all the bloatware.
