On the night of the 4th we were sitting around a campfire. The mosquitoes were out of control so I had sprayed some bug spray on my kids and myself. My 7yr old wanted to play some games on the DINC so I handed it over to him. Well on the drive home later I noticed something on my gradient case. Upon further inspection it appears the chemicals from the bug spray made the rubberized coating bubble up and it looks as if it was melted. I have to say it looks awful so now I'm going naked with my incredible. So be sure to clean your hands of any chemicals before handling.

Always good to have clean hands! :)

Is the case one of the super cheap rubber cases? Part of the way they make em' cheap is to not blend treatment additives or silicon mixes to avoid the "alien acid" effect. The VZW cases are apparently treated, since my black silicon case does not have the problem and has been out and about in similar environments.

Wouldn't the naked back cover also be affected? It seems kind of rubbery.

What do you guys use to clean that back cover?

I am a Ham Radio Operator and this is actually a big deal to us. DEET is known to degrade plastics especially the soft rubber buttons on radio's. When we take our radio's out for Field Day we make sure that any bug spray used is NON-DEET. I saw a $5,000 radio get all the writing wiped off the buttons by a guy who had bug spray on his hands. I thought the guy was going to die!
DEET is nasty stuff! Kills Bugs AND Electronics!
