Root Droid going crazy with 2.2 SS v4.4

Hey guys,

I've been having this problem for most ROMs and I was hoping that somebody could recommend a course of action for me.

Basically, after a couple days of running ROMs my screen gets non-responsive and sometimes icons get touched randomly even when I'm not touching the screen. I can't pull down the notification bar and sometimes scrolling doesn't even work. The keyboard works and so it's something to do with the ROM messing with the system.

I wiped it 3 times (to clear cache and data )prior to installing SS v4.4 and this problem started up just like on most of my ROMs. I just wiped it again right now and installed it again but I have a feeling this will happen again.

Please recommend a course of action cuz I love 2.2 and SS V4.4 but I can't stand my phone going out of control within a week and having to wipe all over again. PLEASE HELP!

Is it humid where you live? Humidity will make your screen go beserk all the time. The moisture on a capacitive screen is touch conductive and the screen will think its being touched when its really not which is why it doesnt respond to your touch. happens to mine alot when i have the phone in my pocket and the screen toward my thigh. Pocket gets too sweaty. Just a suggestion

Droid should pay us for figuring out this ridiculous problem...Shizzy above is right...this is why...
It is like the girlfriend that is amazing and can do everything, but only when she wants to....and when she does it, she is completely scatter-brained and use-less.

Of course, mine is first generation and after reading numerous sites of people with the exact same problem, I finally stumbled across the real reason it gets scattered and decides to do whatever the **** it wants to whenever it wants to and not at your command. The answer...humidity. Yes, we live in the south and even in winter humidity is high. I have been using a vaporizer in my bedroom where I charge it and it is worse in the morning. While my insides feel great, the phone is full of invisible slick fluid that it senses and tries to do something with. It is kind of like that make the bar glass move by itself trick that people do on a slick bar and the real reason ouija boards are more popular down under. Funny you asked about this, because I was about to post this on the hate droid sites.

Final synopsis: If you can keep the bitch from being wet all the time, she is a slick helpful phone. I would go with a 2nd or 3rd generation. I think they may have figured this stuff out by now. Hope they have or they will lose a bunch of users...

New to the forum. I found you doing research as to why my DROID was going nuts. Same problems explained here. And it also seems like it started after the last update. A ghost operating my phone. This all started 3 days ago. I have done everything suggested in these pages. Keep in mind, my phone has never gotten damp, dropped, and humidity was never a factor since it's always indoors. After 2 frustrating days trying to get it to work I finally called Verizon. I purchased this phone almost 2 years ago. Never, ever had a problem with it. When the service person got on the phone with me she was very sympathetic to the problem. She advised me that although I did have insurance on it, they would be happy to let me upgrade even though I was 2 months short. I decided to upgrade to the Droid X as it only would cost me $16 dollars more than my insurance and it's a nicer phone for me. Well guess what, not even 1 hour after I made the upgrade my DROID started working perfectly. Just like always. Red flags went up everywhere for me. So I called a friend of mine that had purchased the same phone at almost the same time as I had. Well whata you know. His phone did the exact same thing. Went haywire. He also talked to Verizon and the same routine. Upgrade was suggested. Well, same thing. As soon as he ordered the upgrade within a few hours his phone was also working beautifully. What the heck. Coinsidence ? hmmmmm.
Soooooo, has anyone checked their old phone after they replaced it to see if it's working? Just curious and pissed.
